The NBA Development League announced Thursday evening that four new players would be headed to Los Angeles to play in the D-League All-Star Game on Saturday as part of All-Star Weekend. The four players -- Scottie Reynolds, Marcus Landry, Cedric Jackson and Jerel McNeal -- were selected to replace three players currently in the NBA on an NBA call-up -- Zabian Dowdell (Phoenix Suns), Trey Johnson (Toronto Raptors) and Mustafa Shakur (Washington Wizards) -- as well as Miami Heat center Dexter Pittman, who recently had surgery and will be out for the next six weeks. Johnson's second 10-day contract ended Thursday, but sources close to the situation don't expect the Raptors to make a decision on extending or declining the guard until after All-Star Weekend.
Reynolds, an All-American as a senior at Villanova last season, will be the third point guard on the East along with Curtis Stinson and Walker Russell Jr., both of which were voted in during the first go around. The 6-foot-2 playmaker is 12.2 points and 8.5 assists over his past 10 games while shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc and limiting his turnovers to just two per game for the Springfield Armor. He'll also compete in Friday night's D-League three-point shooting contest.
