At this year's NBA D-League Showcase in South Padre Island, all of the players are looking to show the NBA scouts and executives in attendance that they might someday be able to contribute to an NBA championship-winning team down the road. |

Two years ago, Shannon Brown was able to do just that on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers during the 2008 D-League Showcase in Boise, Idaho.
Brown, at the time a seldom-used guard in the Cavs' rotation, was able to get his confidence back in front of the majority of NBA decision makers on his way to earning All D-League Showcase First Team honors by scoring 26 points in his first game and following that up with 37 in the second before earning his recall back to the NBA.
