"Frank experienced dizziness and a rapid heart rate," MLB spokesman Pat Courtney said in an e-mail. "(He) went to the hospital for observation."
Courtney said Robinson was released later Thursday. He was transported to Osborn Medical Center and arrived in good condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
"I was concerned,'' Robinson told USA TODAY. "I don't know what it was. I had shortness of breath, but not to the point I couldn't breathe."
The 75-year-old Robinson, who became baseball's first full-time African-American manager after a 21-season playing career, currently serves as a senior vice president for baseball operations. He began not to feel well during one of the meetings at a resort in Paradise Valley, Ariz., and asked for assistance.
